Hidden Paradise Lodge

Getting there takes a little effort, but the resort makes it easy with an airport pickup and a boat ride. Once there, the tours were incredible, and the attention to detail was unbelievable. The staff seemed ready to do anything for guests, and the restaurant team was especially great, particularly Daniel, Henry, and Alonso. The cabins are beautiful, the food was perfect, and the staff were just as wonderful. This may be the most beautiful place I've ever stayed. I can't imagine being disappointed, and I'd give it six stars out of five if I could.

I'm back for my fourth stay, which says a lot. The villas feel five-star, the food is really, really good, and the staff are amazing and more than accommodating. There's plenty to do, and you can spot animals in lots of places around the property. I'd recommend it 10 out of 10.

Lisa at reception remembered a sauce I liked from the restaurant and even went out to buy some for us to take home. She and Bryan were exceptional, and Daniel, Henry, and Alonso were the best wait staff we've ever had. One morning we missed the breakfast hours, but they still brought it to our room. Everyone here is so kind, thoughtful, attentive, and helpful. They really make you feel like family. This is one of the best resorts we've ever visited. Highly recommend.

Palm #5 was a beautiful villa, conveniently close to the amenities. Meals were a pleasure, with delicious multi-course dishes, warm personal service, and a colorful surprise drink of the day that the kids loved. The staff made our whole family feel welcome and looked after. The pool, with its lovely tiers, was a favorite with the kids, and the poolside “shell-bell” made ordering drinks fun. We also enjoyed the peaceful beach, where the deep tide pools were swimmable and full of fish and other sea life, including tiny octopus. Kayaks added to the fun. There was so much to see without leaving the property: sloths, two kinds of monkeys, agoutis, frogs, toads, and even a rare kinkajou. Rubber boots were provided for exploring the lush jungle trails on our own, and a guided night walk along some of those paths was a big highlight. We saw a few glowing critters, but I'll leave the surprise at that. We came as a family with young kids and found a great balance of comfort, adventure, and time to unwind. It was one of our most memorable trips, and we're already dreaming about a return. Highly recommend for families looking for something special in Costa Rica.
