Conchal Hotel

We liked the big comfortable bed, the decent restaurant, and the friendly, helpful staff. There were also lots of iguanas and colorful birds around the property, which was a lovely tropical touch, and Playa Conchal is about a 20-minute walk away. But the room had worn old furniture, substandard cleanliness, and a constant moldy smell. Poorly insulated doors and windows let in a lot of noise, so it was hard to rest. For that level of comfort and condition, the price felt far too high. Brasilito itself is quiet, with few places to eat and not much going on, so it may not suit someone after activities or nightlife.

The room was clean and roomy, and the staff were friendly and very helpful. I loved the pool in the shaded courtyard, surrounded by tropical plants with a nice breeze from the beach. It's a good place for a slower-paced vacation. The beach is a 20-minute walk, or you can drive a short way to the marina for excursions. Since it's on a main road, light sleepers might want a sound machine. I love it here and would come back.

Playa Flamingo, about a 10-minute drive away, was our favorite beach so far. It felt livelier than Conchal, had more room at high tide, and gave us the best sunset. Back at Conchal Hotel, the restaurant really stood out for its food, atmosphere, bright colors, and artwork. We were also glad to have dependable hot water and strong Wi-Fi, which seemed less common in Costa Rica than we'd expected. The owner and team made us feel welcome from the start, even bringing a nice welcome drink. There's parking with a security guard watching over it. We could hear some traffic from the nearby road, but got used to it quickly. We'd happily stay again, and found it excellent value for money.

We were greeted with a passion fruit granita and a warm welcome. The room had a little fridge, air conditioning, and a cozy patio with comfortable chairs. There's a tropical garden around the shaded courtyard pool, where you can cool off with a refreshing beach breeze. The hotel is lovely and centrally located, and we definitely plan to return.
