Cabinas Tito

There’s a big new supermarket, Super Negro, by the bus station, where you can find an ATM. Credit cards are accepted here. The huts are comfortable and air conditioned, set in a wonderful, extensive jungle garden. We saw sloths in the trees, occasional howler monkeys, and colorful poison dart frogs hopping around. It’s an easy 1 km walk to the park and shops. Staff are helpful and friendly, the parking areas are good, and the shared kitchen is well equipped with a kettle, microwave, electric fryer, and slow cooker.

The gardens are incredible, and we saw loads of wildlife, including Lola the sloth, poison dart frogs, golden spiders, butterflies, and geckos. The rooms are nice and cleaned to a really high standard every day. It can be hard to keep mosquitoes and cockroaches out because of the net windows and gaps in the doorframes, but there’s a mosquito net over the bed, so it’s fine. There’s a lovely outdoor sitting area with coffee and some cooking facilities. The location is perfect, between the reggae bars and the main town, just a 5-10 minute walk to the beach, restaurants, bars, shops, and pharmacy. I had a lovely stay at Cabinas Tito.

The host was incredible and so friendly. They showed us the trees, fruits, and animals. We saw frogs, monkeys, a sloth, iguanas, and birds. What a place. Don’t pay to go to the natural park, go to cabinas Tito and you’ll see everything there.

We stayed in the Kukula Room, which was really nice, and the room service was very good. The cabinas sit in a large garden with animals, near Playa Negra, and the main street is within walking distance. Our host was very kind to us.
