The jungle sounds and wildlife made this place feel close to nature, and the owner even shared fresh papaya from a tree on the property. It was the best papaya I’ve ever had. The spot was lovely and very clean, with comfortable beds and really nice showers. Everything we needed was nearby. Can’t wait to come back, 10/10.

Set on a hill in the jungle, this is such a peaceful, tucked-away place. You’ll need a car unless you’re happy taking taxis, and Scott can point you to good drivers. He’s a wonderful owner, happy to chat and full of local advice. The beds were some of the best I’ve slept in for ages. There’s no fridge or ice machine, but Scott can provide coolers, so it wasn’t a big issue. I loved Hotel Casa Conley Del Mar and really hope to visit again. Thanks to everyone!

The hillside setting has a lovely view over tropical flowers, monkeys, birds, and the ocean in the distance. It’s a little outside downtown, though not too far, and the price felt like good value. Our rooms were brand new and very clean, with reliable hot water, internet, and cable. We arrived very late on the first night, after check-in had closed, and the owner kindly let us in. The attention during our stay was personal, almost like a bed and breakfast, and we were asked what we’d like for breakfast.

The owners and staff made us feel welcome and checked that we were happy with the amenities. I also appreciated that the owner asked guests for ideas on how to improve things. Breakfast is included and was delicious, and there’s a well-kept outdoor pool. Our room was spacious and clean, with strong water pressure in the bathroom. It’s an affordable little find, just a short drive from the beach. I’d recommend it to anyone visiting the area.

We spent three nights here and were very happy with our stay. Scott is friendly and enjoys a chat, and booking directly with him saved us the fees charged by other websites. The hotel is quiet, set back in the jungle, but still close to Puerto Viejo and Cahuita national park. We reached it easily in a 2wd vehicle. The rooms and grounds were clean, and there weren’t any bugs, which can be hard to find in Costa Rica. The air conditioning is powerful, the water pressure is great, the beds are comfortable, and the wifi is really good for Costa Rica. Highly recommend.
