Alberto was a big part of what made our stay at Kenaki Lodge so enjoyable. He was incredibly friendly, welcoming, and helpful the whole time. We especially liked the private beach, Negerita and Coco, and of course Alberto. We stayed in the large family bungalow. It was spacious, comfortable, and gave us plenty of privacy. The kitchen could use updated appliances and tools, and a better seal around the front door might help keep critters out, especially for visitors who aren’t used to local wildlife and bugs. Kenaki Lodge is a peaceful option a short drive from amenities, and we’d recommend it. We had a great time.

The beach is only a football field away, and we found lots of sand dollars there. Reggae Bar down the road is a must, and Parque Nacional Cahuita is very close, with a clean beach and plenty of wildlife, including sloths. You don’t need a guide, and entry is donation only. This is a quiet oasis with a fantastic breakfast and an amazing host. There’s no AC, just fans, but as someone from the northern US, I found it cooled down enough at night to be comfortable. It felt a bit like glamping. It’s not a five-star resort, but it is very clean, family friendly, and peaceful. For the price, you can’t go wrong. Highly recommend!

The beach is just 50 meters away, a beautiful, nearly empty stretch where you can surf, exercise, or just enjoy the view. Sea turtles may nest along the shore too, if you’re lucky. Around the lodge, howler monkeys call at all hours and sloths move through the trees. It’s a nature lover’s dream. Kenaki Lodge feels peaceful and full of good energy, tucked away from Cahuita’s noise but only minutes from town. Alberto and his wife made us feel like friends, with homemade breakfasts and genuinely useful tips for local activities. They even helped us find the right direction when we had a tire problem. Five stars, no hesitation, for anyone after an authentic, warm stay on the Caribbean coast.

The beach was just two minutes away, and there were plenty of nearby activities for tourists. The host was lovely and breakfast was always great. The beds were a little sandy, but everything else was great.

Alberto really made our stay special. He was warm, always available, and gave us wonderful suggestions for things to do nearby. He knows and loves the region, and he’s also involved with the local sea turtle rescue group. We were lucky to see baby turtles released into the ocean. It was moving and magical. If you get to see it, consider making a donation. Every bit helps their cause. We stayed with family for a couple of nights in this simple eco-hotel, right in front of Playa Grande. The setting is quiet and rural. Don’t come expecting luxury or fancy amenities, but the bed was comfortable and the atmosphere was relaxing. Breakfast was delicious, especially the fruit plate made with fruit from their garden. If a peaceful, nature-filled stay with heart and purpose sounds good, you’ll enjoy it here. 💚🐢 One million thanks, Alberto! 🙏🏼
