Ocean View Cahuita

Room 13 was one of the two larger units above the breakfast area. It was spotless, with people constantly sweeping. We enjoyed reading or having a cocktail on the back balcony while listening to the ocean. The staff were friendly and quick to respond, and it’s an easy walk into town. There’s a very good restaurant across the street, plus a little shack about 100 meters down the road with the BEST coffee in Costa Rica. When occupancy is low, breakfast is excellent and made to order. With more guests, it’s a buffet and not nearly as good. Our unit had a kitchen, but food needed to go in the refrigerator or ants would show up. Once we did that, there was no problem. The huge tub in the living and bedroom area felt like wasted space. A couple of comfortable chairs or a small sofa and table would be more useful. Also, the kitchen and bathroom drains have no U-bends, so sewer gas can come into the room. Keeping the bathroom door shut and the kitchen sink stopper in place made it livable. Still, this is the best place to stay in Cahuita.

The garden is a lovely spot to sit in the evening, and the rooms are wonderful. The balconies have been thoughtfully laid out on both sides. Being right by the sea means waking up to the waves.

The grounds stretch out to a scenic spot by the ocean, just right for unwinding. We also had a great time by the pool, which had a fun atmosphere and a swim-up bar open in the late afternoon and early evening. The rooms were clean, breakfast was included and really tasty, and the price was reasonable.

Ms. Ashley greeted me with the warmest energy and a big smile. My room was spotless, had a tub, and came with an incredible view. The boutique-style place suited me perfectly.
