The only real downside was the trucks on the nearby road, which could be noisy at night. Otherwise, it’s a wonderful place in Uvita, close to nature, with cozy, very clean lodges in the forest and everything you need. The owners are lovely. They prepare a delicious breakfast themselves and give great suggestions for activities in the area. A beautiful, well-kept place to stay if you want a cozy nature experience with nice hosts.

We enjoyed our night here during a short stop on the way to Manuel Antonio. It was a nice place to stay, though the location isn’t ideal if you don’t have a car.

The grounds, pool, and cabins are beautifully maintained, and the hosts are gracious. Everything was very clean. Lush canopy trees brought birds close by, while trucks could be heard at a distance from the highway below. Breakfast was tasty and came with a slice of homemade cornbread or cake. The lodge is up a private road with a sign recommending a 4x4. Our non-4x4 SUV made it, though the climb felt a little dicey with a standard transmission. We found the beach walkable in about 20 minutes if you’re up for the walk. There’s a convenient gas station and store at the bottom of the drive.

The rooms aren’t huge, but they’re comfortable enough. The wooden cabins are nicely built, with mosquito nets, large windows for airflow, and a pleasant shower with hot water. The small pool was clean, and breakfast was simple but good. In the evening, monkeys sometimes show up in the trees facing the sea. It’s a nice cabin complex in the jungle near the main road. The access is steep, but manageable without a 4x4. I’d recommend it!

Forrest Lodge was a fantastic choice. The surroundings are beautiful, with lots of plants and wild animals, the rooms are cozy, and breakfast is tasty. The owners are really helpful and take great care of the place. I’d absolutely recommend it!
