The rooms feel a bit like treehouses, with an open layout and power outlets for fans and phone chargers. I liked hearing the soothing night sounds, though I can see it won't be for everyone. It's an easy walk down a quiet road to the huge beach, and there's a small supermarket nearby for cold beers to take along. Markus was kind and attentive to our group, even cutting fresh aloe twice for people with sunburn. Breakfast fruit was delicious, and the fresh coffee each morning was much appreciated.

The rooms are simple, like little cabins in the jungle, but they were just right. Service was good and so was breakfast, and I'd recommend the place to people visiting Uvita. I took off a star because the listing says it's next to the beach. It's close, but not right beside it, more like a 500 meter walk.

The wooden cabins look good and feel rustic and authentic. The service was very friendly, and they offer tour information plus surfboard and bicycle rentals, so I'd still recommend the place. But there was no privacy at all. The bathroom didn't even have a door, and we could hear people in other rooms using theirs.

For the price, this was an okay place to stay. We had room 7, a clean, basic upstairs unit with a new, clean mattress. We liked being near the beach, having breakfast included, and having a fan, which matters in hot Uvita in February. Still, the room wasn't very private, and there were several annoyances. The walls between rooms stopped around 7-8 feet, just over 2 meters, so light and sound carried through. Our neighbors were considerate and turned the lights off at 10 pm, but other guests could make this difficult for light sleepers. The only other toilet, partly exposed, was at reception, down the stairs and 50 meters away. The shared bathroom itself was clean and new, but when someone downstairs ran a sink or shower, our water pressure dwindled to a trickle, even when shampoo was in your hair. There was no mosquito net, and we found a few biters in the room. We were glad we'd brought our own and rigged it up. The towels and sheets smelled strongly of soap and felt waxy, as if they'd been washed but not rinsed. They graciously gave us a replacement set, but it was only a little less soapy. I'd only stay again if the other affordable nearby places were already booked.
