We ducked in while waiting for the traffic to clear, and it worked out perfectly. The hostess and bartender was so kind and helpful, and the regular margaritas were the best we’ve ever had. We ordered buffalo chicken dip with fried plantain, which was really good. About 45 minutes later, the jam had cleared. Highly recommend!

Cindy, one of the owners, waited on us and suggested a frozen fireball margarita. Great call, it was delicious, and the smoothies were amazing too. My husband and I both finished our generous, tasty meals. The menu has so many choices that deciding is tough, but everything was beautifully made and delicious. Los Laureles deserves its great reviews, with its Costa Rican feel in the food, decor, and hospitality. We’ll be back, and if you’re in Uvita, don’t miss it.

Cindy, the owner, is a funny, welcoming host. We first came because our hotel recommended the place, and the Patacones con carne was probably the best thing I’ve ever eaten. I rarely rave like that, but it was incredible. My wife loved her fish taco just as much. We returned the next night for a charity concert, and I had the pulled pork burger, which was just as tasty. I’ll try more of the menu when I’m back in Uvita.

The brisket sandwich was the best I’ve ever had, even compared with the ones I’ve tried on trips to Texas. It’s smoked fresh each day by the husband, and his wife serves it on a homemade bun. We also had the fish tacos and nachos, both creative and full of flavor. The prices are very reasonable, the service is excellent, and the atmosphere is terrific. A real find, well worth the trip.
