Marcia and Monica took such wonderful care of us, and their delicious meals were the highlight of every evening. Our family, including a three-year-old and a one-year-old, felt right at home at Michael's in Playa Grande. The property is beautifully designed, and having separate casitas was a lifesaver because the grandparents had a quiet space of their own. We spent our days between the gorgeous beach and private pool. Thank you for a lovely, stress-free beach vacation!
10/10. We planned to stay for 3 nights, but on the third night I booked 2 more because we were enjoying it so much. Great service, very comfortable, and really close to the beach. It was exactly what I wanted, and it also worked really well for a family vacation, with a comfortable setup for all ages. 100% recommended.
The setup gave us plenty of room, with separate studios so everyone could have their own space, and the pool was a great bonus. We loved the place. It’s a quiet street, so it still feels private, even though the main surf break is literally a two-minute walk away. There are great restaurants nearby. We’d 100% come back.
You can stay a week or longer without renting a car, since everything you need is within walking distance. Rental cars in Costa Rica are very expensive, so that matters a lot to me. The location in Playa Grande is hard to beat, a one-minute walk to the beach and two great restaurants on the same block, Surf Dog and Rip Jack Inn, both with great food and vibes. The shared pool and yard are fantastic. It’s a nice way to meet other travelers, while the casitas still feel private. The concrete walls are well built, so I didn’t hear noise from neighboring casitas and slept great. Best mattresses in CR! Everything is brand new, including the shared washer and dryer. The casitas are beautifully designed and make practical use of the space. I also cooked quite a bit in the mini kitchen, which was surprisingly functional, and often used the shared gas grill by the pool to cook the amazing fresh tuna available in the area. I’ll definitely be back to this Hotelito.
We’ve been coming to Playa Grande for 20 years and usually stay in well-maintained places, but we’ve never had a better bed. This new find is upscale and quiet, with so much within walking distance, including the beach. The pool is great, the landscaping is beautiful, and the amenities are all there: dishes and cutlery, a real hotplate, microwave, larger mini fridge, outdoor grill, bigger TV than we’re used to, a beautiful tiled shower with a large rain head, outdoor shower, and secure safe, gates, and room. I could go on. Stay here, you’ll be happy you did!
