The owners were friendly and keen to talk about local wildlife, and the property itself was clean and modern. The pool was also clean and really nice. The beach is a 10 or 15 minute walk away, though getting onto it means driving to the main entrance and buying a pass. We ate at Kinsu, the closest restaurant, and it was very good.
The supermarket is quite far, but the beach is close. We had an apartment with a fridge, coffee maker, one pan and a ricecooker. Both rooms had air conditioning, and the pool was always clean. The staff were amazing, checking in with us and asking if we needed anything.
Small, family-run and Tico-owned, this hotel felt safe and peaceful, with easy parking and no traffic noise. The grounds and rooms were tidy and very well cared for. Sarah shared tips for eating at Kinsu and shopping at BM. We rented boards from Juely at Tiberon Surf around the corner, a friendly Tico-owned place with great boards and prices. The beach is an easy walk, with beginner and intermediate surf breaks that felt muy suave. The basic two-room apartments were spacious for the price. Wifi wasn’t very fast, but that seemed normal for Uvita. There wasn’t a comfortable TV area, which suited us fine, as we spent evenings on the patio listening to birds and swimming more. This isn’t a place for a wild nightlife scene. We didn’t notice anything about the name in particular. Thanks for a fantastic stay, Sarah and Manuel. We’ll be back!
There are decent spots within walking distance for lunch and dinner, and the beach is walkable too, though you pay at that entrance. The pool gets maintained daily, the wifi was great, and the shower had nice hot water when I moved the switch all the way left. Beds were comfortable. The room is mostly a hotel setup with some basic kitchen extras: fridge with freezer, drip coffee maker, microwave, dishes and an electric frypan. There’s a plastic table and chairs, but no toaster. It was mostly clean, with two optional touch-up cleanings and towel changes during the week. You’re a bit exposed, since the kitchen and bathroom windows have no curtains or frosting. Sara, the host, communicates with English-speaking guests through WhatsApp and a translator.
Our apartment suited what we needed, and the beds were comfortable. The host was lovely and gave us all the information we could need. The pool was clean too. A small settee in the living room or on the terrace would have been welcome, but otherwise it was a perfect little place.
