The staff were friendly and easy to deal with, and the French fries were good. The burgers, though, were really bad and expensive. We paid $20 for a smash burger that was supposed to come with caramelized onions and other goodies. What arrived was like a hockey puck, with raw onions and no flavor. Reviews made it sound like people really liked the burgers, but my experience was that this one was extremely overpriced and not good. I don’t mind paying for good food, but paying a premium for subpar food really annoys me.

The Apex beer was amazing, and I liked the atmosphere early in the evening. We came during the Super Bowl for the wing and draft beer deal, where ordering wings got you a free draft. I had one Apex and was already tipsy, so I was looking forward to garlic parmesan wings. They took about an hour to arrive, and seemed completely wrong: plain, unsalted wings with a side of oil. I didn’t flag anyone down because it was extremely busy and the staff seemed overwhelmed. The wings were bland, and the dip tasted like straight oil with no flavor. As the place filled up, things got disorganized. The TVs weren’t synchronized, some were behind, and others didn’t seem connected at all, so following the game was hard. Getting service became difficult, and we left before the game ended. The beer and early atmosphere were highlights, but the food and service didn’t meet expectations for such a big event.

Gian, the owner, was incredibly friendly, and our waiter was fantastic. I loved the in-house brews, they were so delicious. There was also a wonderful range of food and drinks to choose from. Such a great experience.

I had the Whale Tale Ceviche with a dark beer, and the ceviche was so delicious. The staff were really friendly and even let me taste the beer before choosing. The restaurant has a cozy atmosphere and a lovely backyard. There’s also a hotel connected to it, tucked away in the backyard. Great food and a lovely place. Thanks, I’ll come again.
