Hotel Las Brumas

The receptionist offered me the suite, but I said I just wanted a simple room for the night. She gave me a suite for a great price anyway. It was huge, with a huge bathroom, a great shower, and the best bed I've slept on since coming here. The area is noisy, though, and the hotel provides ear plugs. I enjoyed my stay overall.

The front desk lady was pleasant and helpful, and the hotel has a private, gated parking garage you can enter and exit 24 hours a day. It's on a main road in Cartago. Our basic, clean room had a terrace overlooking the city, which was awesome both during the day and at night. Breakfast is complimentary at the restaurant next door. I wouldn't recommend the food, and especially not the service. The waiters were extremely rude. Maybe they didn't like that our breakfast was complimentary. We ordered coffee and juice twice, and they only brought them the second time, with attitude. The tortilla-like thing with ham and cheese was listed as an omelette. It wasn't bad, but didn't have much flavor. We'll definitely return to the hotel, just not the restaurant. We didn't tip because of the horrible service.

We spent a few nights here and loved the place. The staff were friendly and accommodating, the WiFi was strong, and the free breakfast each morning was delicious. Everything was super clean, the showers were hot, and it was VERY quiet at night. They have different room types for different budgets and accommodation needs. It had everything we were looking for!

The staff were super nice, and the place was clean. The shower was hot with good pressure. But it felt more like a hostel than a hotel, with an uncomfortable bed and VERY thin walls, kind of like a dorm that had been sectioned off. Getting luggage upstairs meant climbing about 25-30 stairs.
