If you're after a wilderness lodge feel with hotel staff and plenty of services, this place fits. We were surrounded by birds and sloths, while still having room service, cleaning, buffet breakfast, and a pool. The staff were attentive and friendly, and even helped us spot sloths. The location worked well for visiting the sights, while being far enough from La Fortuna's tourist trap. We had no complaints. I saw some comments about bugs, but it's a rainforest. We mostly kept the doors shut after sunset and only came across a few ants and mosquitoes.

A good hotel with reasonable amenities. I do wish there were hair dryers in the rooms, though that would add value. For the hotel or any help around the area, ask for Victor Prudente.

Villas Josipek was a quiet, private place to stay, very convenient for getting to the La Fortuna area. We spent two nights there and were very happy. The villa was clean and had a full kitchen with the supplies we needed. There’s a nice trail on the grounds with lots to see, and the forest setting is beautiful and peaceful. Victor, the property manager, was welcoming and very helpful. The breakfast area staff were kind and accommodating too. We had a private van and driver. I'd gladly return.

Victor at reception made the stay much easier. He arranged tours, shared lots of advice, found us a driver for some trips, and got us a taxi when Uber kept canceling. He went above and beyond. The staff were what made us most comfortable. We were three families. Two got private rooms with balconies and spectacular views. The third had a clean, pleasant, basic bungalow for four. I wish the rooms had screen doors, so we could leave doors open for airflow. It rained much of the time, and the humidity made the room smell musty. The hotel is a little way out of town, so getting there and back takes planning and costs about $15-20 each way. We used guided tours with pickup and drop-off. It's a great place to escape the commercial tourist scene and enjoy the quiet forest. I'd definitely return.
