Breakfast was a highlight for me, especially the delicious fruit. The bungalows can fit up to four people, and there are dart frogs, agoutis, and birds around the property. The beach is right across the road, with a few restaurants nearby. Puerto Viejo is walkable or just a tuk tuk ride away for more shopping or a visit to the Jaguar Rescue Center.

We had a great time hearing howler monkeys in the morning, and the grounds have some amazing trees. The staff were great, though a few more smiles would've been nice. Breakfast was really good, especially the generous bowls of fruit. Our clean, cozy lodge slept four, with three beds downstairs and one up a steep ladder.

It felt like a home away from home. The property is well kept, right by the ocean, and the rooms are huge. Probably the best hotel I've ever stayed at.

We had a nice stay at Azania. The beautiful gardens were full of butterflies, colorful frogs, birds, and agoutis, and the location made it easy to walk to the beach in two minutes after crossing a road. You're away from the crowded center, but just a few minutes from it by taxi or tuk tuk. We also had an amazing visit to Cajuita national park while we were there. One thing to know: the bathroom feels pretty small for two or more people. The maisonette's third bed makes sense for three people, but its ladder is very steep and high, so going up and down takes time and effort.
