Holiday Inn San Jose La Sabana

I picked Holiday Inn La Sabana for its location and its semi-Olympic-sized pool for lap swimming, and stayed seven nights for work. Access to Golds gym was very convenient too, since its pool opens at 5 am. Breakfast was fantastic, with lots of options and really kind staff. Ian and Kevin made me feel especially welcome, as did the omelet cooks. I had a great stay and hope to come back.

The breakfast was so good, and I'd definitely recommend adding it to your stay. The staff were wonderful, accommodating, and answered all our questions. For my husband's birthday, Esteban helped arrange a small cake with a candle, just right for two people. I'd happily return.

I've stayed here four times now, and this visit was great too. Security is attentive, and the card key means only guests can access the rooms, which made me feel safe. Fabiana checked me in and made sure my accommodation needs were handled up front. My room was very clean and maintained daily, which matters a lot to me. Susana is a great manager, always courteous and smiling, and proactive about any concerns. I'll be back and recommend it if the location suits you.

On my first visit to Costa Rica, I wanted a central base before starting a tour of the country. The Holiday Inn was lovely, with pleasant, professional staff, well-kept grounds, and pretty good food in the restaurant. While we were having breakfast, Esteban kindly gave me a nap of the country. My room was very clean except for a few tiny ants. I didn't make a complaint since I know some things are outside everyone's control, but that's why I gave the room four stars.
