The supermarket and pharmacy are within walking distance. I stayed at the property for a full week while in Puerto Viejo and highly recommend it. It really felt like sleeping in the jungle. Christian was a friendly, funny host, and I loved the welcome drinks and included breakfast every day.

Be ready to leave your shoes outside and enjoy the natural setting. The garden is gorgeous, full of plants and wildlife like lizards and birds. My room was spacious, clean, and well equipped, with a wooden floor that added to the natural feel. The owners were upbeat, friendly, and clearly love what they do. Breakfast and coffee were delicious, service was professional, and guest privacy is a priority. A peaceful, natural getaway, best of the best.

We liked how tucked away the hotel felt behind a secure gate at the end of an alley, away from the Cocles Beach nightlife. Still, the supermarket, beach, pharmacy, restaurants, and bars are all walkable. There’s plenty of parking, and the host was great and helpful. The six bungalows are spacious, made of glossy wood, and have big beds and bathrooms, a fridge, lots of storage, and an essential fan. There’s a shared shower to rinse off after the beach, somewhere to hang wet clothes, and a restaurant where breakfast is served. Breakfast was okay, the coffee was good and always available. Beautiful greenery makes the bungalows seem to emerge from a Costa Rican jungle. The nature was more intense than we expected. We’d already stayed at six other Costa Rica hotels over two weeks, and this was the only room where we found bugs: a few spiders and geckos, ants, a centipede, and a grasshopper about the size of an outstretched palm. Maybe it’s normal here, and perhaps we should have expected it from the “natural village” name. The constant sounds from birds, monkeys, insects, and other wildlife were the harder part. Birdsong and cicadas can be lovely, but in these bungalows you hear everything. Light sleepers should know it made sleeping difficult, even with earplugs.

I’m here with my wife now and having a wonderful time. The grounds are lovely, with hummingbirds, agoutis, and all kinds of other creatures. The rooms are very clean and the property feels safe. Christian is hospitable and speaks several languages, and Leydi is pleasant and accommodating. Breakfast is delicious. A paradise for anyone who loves nature.
