The staff were friendly, the property was well maintained by the cleaning staff, and there was private security. The gate is locked and only opens with a key unless someone leaves it open. Laundry is available on request from whoever you rent from, and requires a card. I stayed in a ground-floor unit, where the floor gets slippery when wet. It was a small studio-style space with one bedroom, a little fridge, a sink, and a two-burner stove. There's a convenience store across the street, though the bigger market is about a 13-minute walk away. The pool was nice, but the jacuzzi water was the same temperature as the pool. Staff said it doesn't get hot. The beach is about a five-minute walk, though it was still recovering from the 2017 flood. Given the setup, I'd suggest paying no more than $30 a night.

The garden is nice, and it felt like a safe place to stay. There's laundry, a pool, and a jacuzzi. The condo is near the center, about three minutes from the beach.

The pool and hot tub were wonderful, and the room was very clean with comfortable beds. The location was perfect. Loved it all! If you're looking for a hotel in Coco, definitely go with Marina Loft Apart-Hotel.

What bothered me most was the lack of shared-space etiquette. There are only six loungers by the pool and three covered tables with four chairs each. In high season, some long-term guests treated the area like their own party space, leaving towels and bags on chairs to claim them even when they were gone for hours. They were loud, too. That was hard to deal with, and I won’t return. Getting to the main drag takes about 15 minutes if you walk fast. Part of the route has no sidewalk, traffic is steady, and you have to cross at a particularly busy corner. If walking quickly or crossing the road is difficult for you, that could be a problem. There are some upsides: the property is gated and well kept, the pool is nice, it’s a short walk to the beach, and the price is on the lower end for Costa Rican rentals. The studio units comfortably sleep two. Unit 210 is very basic and badly needs updating, so don’t expect anything fancy. It has sliding glass doors if you want to close off the sleeping area, plus a kitchen with a table and a not very useful small couch. The bathroom is a decent size. The full-size fridge is in the bedroom area. The kitchen fan and built-in hot plate didn’t work, though there was a separate electric burner, and the bedroom had a fan and window AC. Wi-Fi worked, but the TV remote didn’t. I told the host on my first day and still hadn’t received a replacement two weeks later. Maybe they’re hard to find. Guests in other units said they use an iPad for Netflix too, and complained they only had bar fridges, so I guess I was lucky there.
