Villas Rio Mar Resort

We spent a lot of time at the pool, where Richard looked after us with food and great drinks. He was fantastic, always smiling and glad to help with whatever we needed. The property itself is amazing, and everyone on staff was so pleasant and accommodating. We’ll definitely be back!

We held our seminar in the conference room, and the hotel staff took wonderful care of both us and the space. The grounds are full of wildlife and set in a beautiful garden. Our room was clean and comfortable, and the staff were incredibly friendly and accommodating. I’d happily stay another month if I could.

The garden setting is lovely, and it’s only a 15-20 minute walk into town. It’s an okay place, but the setup is a little odd. Rooms look tired and could use maintenance, and the fridge is out on the veranda. Several people in our group had trouble with their safes. The water tank in our room was leaking badly, though staff responded and moved us to another room. Food was okay. Breakfast comes as a set plate, such as avocado toast or eggs, with fruit and salad whether you want them or not. You can’t choose individual items, which creates some waste.

The gardens were beautiful, and the room had good AC, hot water, a handy fridge, and a decent bed. For the price, it was good value. Breakfast was bland and needed more flavor, especially salt. The happy hour cocktails were alright for the price, but nothing special. A good hotel, just not an excellent one.
