Vistadrake Lodge

The location was convenient, though the house wasn't quite where we'd expected it to be. Just keep in mind this town gets up and moving early.

From my cabin at Vista Drake, I had an ocean view and spotted lots of animals. A big iguana was in the tree next to the cabin every day, plenty of aras flew past, and a family of monkey's visited my terrace. The room was great, the beds very comfortable, and everything I needed was there. Emilio, the owner, was very hospitable and helped me with everything. He also owns a large piece of forest a few kilometers' walk from town, where they grow bananas, cacao, pineapples, sugarcane, and more. I got a tour around the place and it was really amazing. I also did the tubing tour: first a nice walk along a jungle trail, then through the river, and finally floating along on a tube. A really cool experience! Vista Drake is beautiful, and I can really recommend it. Emilio, thank you for making my stay so pleasant!

I stayed for six nights in December, and the amazon Lodges and million dollar view completely took me by surprise. I just couldn't believe the view. Emilio, the owner, was very helpful and gave me great tips about the area and fantastic local restaurants. Can't wait to return.

If you appreciate wild nature and authenticity, this was a wonderful experience for us. It's not fancy: there are no windows, just nets over square openings that look like jail windows. You hear the sounds of the rainforest and may find small animals like ants, frogs, and spiders around. But that's Pura Vida in Costa Rica. The place sits very close to the beach and deep in primary rainforest. We enjoyed it a lot, and the breakfast was great.
