Pie in the Sky 1

We had the whole house, with six bedrooms in the main area and two more in separate outside entrances. It was clean, well kept, and there’s a mini market an easy walk away. Howlers, the bar next door, can get loud on Saturday nights. The driveway is steep for a tour van, though there’s flat parking in front. There were very few insects in June, so we left doors and windows open. The house, pool, and jacuzzi were all very nice. I’d definitely return to the area.

Pie 1 had majestic views, and the pool and hot tub were great places to enjoy the day or evening. Arenal looked spectacular. We liked Howlers so much that we ate at the restaurant three times. There’s a good beer selection and great pizza. Everything in the Pie in the Sky area felt magical, and the staff were friendly and helpful. We spent three nights here and absolutely loved it. If I get back to Costa Rica, I’ll stay here again.

My husband and I stayed three nights, and we kept talking about how amazing it was. The views of the lake and Arenal are spectacular. It’s a small place, so it doesn’t feel crowded. There was only one other couple while we were there, and we hardly saw them. We had the pool and hot tub to ourselves and couldn’t get over the views. The staff were fantastic, and Howlers served such good food that we ate there all three nights. I’d recommend it to anyone looking for a quiet getaway with a great view and helpful staff.

After full days of adventures, it was great to come back for a swim, soak in the hot tub, or have a drink outside while taking in the view. The town center is a 15-20 minute walk, which we often took to get to restaurants or buy snacks and drinks. Howler's Bar and Grill is right next to the house, open for lunch and dinner, with excellent pizza and craft beer. The Majestic was clean, beautiful, and very well organized. My wife said it felt spa-like. On a clear day the views are hard to beat. Staying in this quiet village was our favorite part of the trip. It gave us a break from the thousands of other tourists and pushy street vendors, so we could just enjoy Costa Rica. If I’m lucky enough to visit again, I’d stay at the Majestic and would recommend it to anyone in the La Fortuna area.
