InterContinental Costa Rica at Multiplaza Mall by IHG

I spent most of the day by the pool or in the garden, both with beautiful scenery. Breakfast had lots of choices and everything tasted delicious, and the front desk staff were incredibly kind and helpful. The gym was nice too, though I didn’t get any pictures of it. My only critique is that it doesn’t have a rowing machine. I’m a big Intercontinental fan, and IHG came through again. I had an amazing stay!

I keep coming back because the location works well for my needs, and there’s a very nice mall just a short walk away. The hotel has plenty of food options, while Escazu also has lots of nice restaurants a short ride away. It can get busy since it’s so popular, but the staff still do a great job. At Zambra bar, the Factory, Primento, Nau, and the Market, everyone is on top of things. Rooms are clean and well serviced, and the management team has kept refreshing different areas of the hotel over the years. I’ve stayed here many times in the past few years and always enjoy it. Highly recommend.

The room looked very nice, but it wasn’t the cleanest. Breakfast was beautiful, but when we got in at midnight after a 16-hour flight, all we wanted was to rest. We couldn’t even open the minibar, and there was no drinking water for us when we arrived late in the evening. It’s not normal for an “intercontinental” to leave the rooms without even a bottle of water. Nonsense.

The staff were professional and helpful, and the restaurant prices were reasonable with good food. Don’t skip breakfast. It’s a buffet for around 15 USD, more like a great brunch, with really good food and fresh pastries. The hotel coffee is some of the best I’ve had, and there’s an espresso machine so you can make your own. The hotel itself is really nice.
