Ana is a terrible landlord. Renting from her made everyday life stressful, and she got angry when I tried to handle even small repairs myself. After waiting three weeks for her to send someone, I changed a lightbulb and she was upset about that. During the two years I lived there, repairs were repeatedly ignored. She would either not answer or promise to deal with something and then leave it undone. I often had to chase her employees, pay for repairs myself, or live with the problem for months while repeatedly contacting her until she finally made a call. The worst example was the only bathroom with a shower. While I was living in the apartment, she chose to remodel it without asking me, leaving me without a shower or toilet for more than three weeks. The downstairs toilet was also broken. Her advice was to figure out where I could shower and use the toilet. After the work, the shower still wouldn't drain and was unusable for another month. She offered no compensation, asked no permission beforehand, made no effort to find a solution, and never apologized. She may also enter your apartment without permission. Her management was irresponsible across the board, including payments, repairs, contracts, appointments, and communication. The apartments were poorly and disgustingly maintained, keys were late, and she wouldn't reliably show up to hand them over or collect them. She rarely answered texts or calls, sometimes only once every four months. Deposit returns were late too, and unless you kept pressing her, you could end up saying goodbye to that money. Don't rent a place under Ana if you actually want somewhere to live.
