The Zancudo Lodge

The fishing was phenomenal. We focused on sailfish and rooster fish, caught both, and had plenty of chances at yellowfin tuna. Tuna came in daily. Captain Javier found fish quickly on our first two days, then Captain Cholo and mate John worked hard to keep us in the action for the next two. They know the water and the fish, and don’t stop looking. Zancudo Lodge exceeded every expectation during our four-day trip. From the cool towel when we arrived to the comfortable, clean accommodations set up for anglers, everything felt first-class. The welcoming atmosphere made us feel at home, and the woodwork and craftsmanship are amazing. Greg and Goldeen were wonderful hosts, with incredible hospitality and attention to detail. Every staff member seemed passionate about making guests and anglers happy. The meals were fresh, flavorful, beautifully prepared, and a real Costa Rican culinary experience. There’s a nice wine list, and they catered to our needs. We made memories and friendships that will last a lifetime, and can’t wait to come back. For world-class fishing, great hospitality, and incredible food, Zancudo Lodge delivers. Highly recommend it for a fishing adventure in Costa Rica.

Everything was amazing, from the people and service to the food and fishing. The whole place was awesome, and I couldn’t have asked for a better trip.

My girlfriend and I came from Switzerland for four days at Zancudo Lodge, with three days fishing and one day to rest. Goldeen and Gregg run a comfortable, professional lodge with a great spirit that you can feel across the whole team, from service staff and captains to dock workers and housekeeping. Everyone was open and friendly, and we felt very welcome. The food was delicious and made with love. It was a five-star fishing and lodging experience. The fishing felt like another world. I caught all the big game trophies and fulfilled a dream. Cholo is a patient, great captain, and with his help even my girlfriend landed some big fish. It would be wonderful if we could come back.
