The trails and waterfalls around the grounds were lovely and easy to explore, and the whole place felt peaceful. I also took a cooking class, which the staff made welcoming and well organized. Everyone was helpful and professional during my stay. Ecolirios Boutique Hotel is a thoughtful eco-focused property created and run by local owners. It's a comfortable way to enjoy Costa Rica's nature.

The food was excellent, though a little expensive, and the horseback riding was amazing. There are several activities on offer. The property is gorgeous and really remote, so once you're there, you're pretty dependent on it. Service could be better, too. We waited an hour and a half for room service, and a couple of small things like that took away from the stay.

If you're planning to stay, I'd make sure to rent a car. I hadn't planned to at first, but found one at the last minute and was glad I did. Getting around the property without a car is pretty inconvenient. I stayed three nights in a Jungle Suite and really enjoyed the room, the staff, and the excursions. I did the cooking class and the combo tour with horseback riding and a hike.

We had a great jungle tour with Dennis and his brother, and it added a lot to our trip. The jungle suites were the highlight: spacious, nicely designed, and right among the greenery, which made them a lovely fit for a romantic getaway. Service from the staff was good overall, though some things could be improved. We liked the food and drinks, but thought they were a bit overpriced compared with other options, even by Swiss standards. Ecolirios Boutique Hotel and Spa is a pretty unique stay, especially if you want to feel surrounded by nature.
