We had a private waterfall tour and found secluded, romantic beaches all around, but what really stayed with me was the food. Chef Pablo is amazing, and we ate at the restaurant both nights. My girlfriend and I were celebrating our anniversary in Costa Rica, and out of all the hotels we visited, Laguna Mar was our favorite. The owners and caretakers took such good care of us. Go visit this hotel!

The restaurant has a terrific breakfast and a really good burger, and the people working there do a wonderful job. Stars depend on your expectations and who’s reviewing. Luguna Mar is great, though it’s not the 4 Season's. Of course, there are only two seasons here, so stop by and enjoy the real Costa Rica.

Only about ten rooms, so this is a lovely little boutique hotel. The service was great, thanks Michael and Andres, and the restaurant on site was wonderful. I had one of the best seafood dishes I’ve tried in Costa Rica, the Rojo Curry Shrimp.

We make the half-hour drive from our town just for dinner. The ceviche with patacones is the best around, and I’d suggest the mixed seafood soup. My husband always gets the ribs. Even the bread is made in house and it’s fantastic. You won’t leave disappointed.

We stopped in for dinner and dessert, and the facility looked nice. The staff were very friendly and the service was great. The meal was good, though it cost a bit more than we were used to paying in Costa Rica. Still, the value felt decent.
