The staff were so accommodating that they let us extend our stay twice without any trouble. This hostel has lots of character, good prices, and a convenient spot near a supermarket. There’s a small, cute kitchen that works well, laundry if you need it, and an amazing handmade foosball table in the dining room. The morning birdsong is wild. Excellent staff.

The owner was unfriendly when I brought up how dirty the sheets were. They had holes and didn’t look clean, and the mattress was awful. My room smelled moldy, and the facilities really need renovating. The location was okay, with a few cafes and restaurants nearby, though it takes 20-25 minutes to walk to the city centre. Unfortunately, this was one of the worst hostels I stayed at in Central America.

I stayed here on a G adventure trip, and it was a nightmare. The mold smell was strong, and mold seemed to be everywhere, even on the pillows. The kitchen couldn’t be used. I’ve stayed in plenty of hostels, but I didn’t feel this place was safe for anyone. It shouldn’t be open.

There was mold everywhere, dead ants all over one of the beds, and no hand soap. The lights didn’t work, and the shower barely had hot water. I was with a G-Adventures group and left after barely making it through one night. This was the worst place I’ve ever stayed. Please take care of your health and do not book this hotel. It needs to be shut down.

The laundry service was quick, which was a plus. But our room had no window, the toilet wouldn’t flush, and there’s no soundproofing, so conversations from neighboring rooms came through very clearly. It’s also right in the jungle and exposed to the elements, so I wouldn’t stay here if bugs bother you. We were here for two nights as part of a G Adventures tour.
