Beach Break Resort

The biggest problem at night was the light. There were no blackout curtains or blinds, and several rows of hanging bulbs stayed on all night, so the room was bright the whole time. The place needs an update and a deep clean. Its location near the beach is wonderful. There was a coffee maker in the room, but since there’s no restaurant, I wish they’d included even one morning’s coffee. How are you supposed to know to bring your own?

For our first night in Costa Rica, this was a practical mid-range stop in Jacó and decent value for a short stay. The pools and shared spaces were well maintained, and the location was great, with direct beach access and free parking. The rooms felt a little outdated, and the beds were worn out. When we raised the bed issue, the receptionist responded quickly and sent someone to fix it.

It was quiet, partly because there weren’t many other people around, but I was disappointed and would think twice about staying here. We arrived around 7 pm and found what looked like animal poop on the beds. There was no receptionist at night, only a dismissive security guard. They did move us to another room, and thankfully that one didn’t have roaches. But the bedding had mold and stains, and the place looked poorly maintained and a bit abandoned. When we spoke to reception, they said that was just the location. They also usually charge for pool use after checkout, even when the place is completely empty.

We lasted about three hours during our stay on 11/24/2025 before the roaches drove us out. I was brushing my teeth while they stared at me as if they owned the place, and we checked out and went elsewhere. This is the worst run-down motel in Jaco, not a resort or a hotel. Save your money and stay somewhere else. The first room was barely habitable: pubic hair and urine stains at the base of the toilet, an ant farm by the bathroom sink, windows that wouldn’t close and let mosquitoes in, and roaches everywhere. The front desk was rude and dismissive. The second room was meant to be better, but the beds were broken. The pool was filthy and poorly maintained, and the motel seemed half abandoned. Their stretch of beach was littered with trash, broken tile, cinder blocks, and glass, and wasn’t maintained. I don’t know who leaves good reviews for this place. I can only assume they’re bought and paid for. My fiancée and I had a nightmare of a stay. Avoid this place at all costs if you’re visiting Jaco.
