We enjoyed our stay and would definitely come back. The rooms were very clean, the grounds were kept up nicely, and breakfast was really good. It's a budget-friendly hotel just a few blocks from the town center. Everyone from reception to the restaurant staff was professional and helpful.

You get lovely volcano views, exotic wildlife right outside, and really good food in the restaurant. The hotel is close to everything, but the wilderness is still right in the backyard. They even make towel animals. Best place in La fortuna, and no need to cruise.

The gardens are lovely, and breakfast was decent. The building is old, though it looked clean. We did find a lot of little bugs in the room.

Tony at the restaurant really stood out. He was professional, attentive, and always checked whether we needed anything. The whole team was friendly, from reception to housekeeping and especially the restaurant staff, and the service was top-notch. The room was spacious and nice, the location was perfect, and the beautiful property was very well cared for. Our stay at Hotel Monte Real was wonderful, and I’d gladly recommend it.

The rooms were cleaned thoroughly every day, which I really appreciated. Breakfast comes with the stay, though I thought it was just okay, neither good nor bad. It's a nice little place right in the middle of town, so getting to restaurants and shops was easy.
