Sangregado Lodge

Bring mosquito spray, you'll need it. This place is incredibly peaceful, with amazing views and a feeling of being immersed in nature. The room was pristine, and the location is strategic for visiting the area. Staff were friendly and always ready to help. I had a great stay and highly recommend it.

The lodge staff were so friendly and helpful, I can't praise them enough. We booked a night walk with their guide on the trails around the property, and it was fantastic. We had a perfect four-night stay at Sangregado, right across from the Mistico Hanging Bridges inside the national park. You'll really need a car here because it's remote, about 25 minutes from La Fortuna and at least 10 from the nearest restaurants. The Lost Iguana resort is a short drive away, around 800 metres, but not really walkable. Breakfast is included at Sangregado and comes from their Blue Hibiscus restaurant.

We wished we'd booked another night. The room was clean and comfortable, and what we saw in the pictures matched what we experienced. The included breakfast was delicious, too. The location was convenient, close to many things and easy to get around, while the lodges themselves are tucked into the mountains with an amazing view of the volcano and jungle below. The staff provided outstanding customer service, with a level of professionalism that really impressed me. We stayed for three days, and this place was so cool. It was well worth the price, and I'd highly recommend it. Thanks for making our vacation so special.

I loved waking to the sun coming over the volcano, then sitting in the cozy hammock chair listening to the rain and wildlife. The rooms have spectacular views and hot showers with an open glass view. I saw a couple of hummingbirds, and their kind of raccoon on the property and near the restaurant. The room was clean and comfortable, and I felt like I was in heaven. A guided tour at Mistico bridges is a must, and they're just a short walk across the parking lot. The staff at Sangregado Lodge were exceptional. They welcomed me with fresh coconut water, a lovely surprise, and there's good coffee and a water cooler for refilling your bottle. The free breakfast was good. If you stay longer than two days, you'll probably want a car because it's remote. Without one, there's a shuttle to breakfast at 8:05 am and dinner at 6:55 pm.
