Riverside Lodge

We had no reservation, but they welcomed us like family. The hospitality was top notch, and the food was amazing, coming from someone who was a chef. It's a paradise for bird lovers, and there's even a resident sloth. They don't speak English, so have a translator app ready if you don't speak Spanish. My wife speaks it and translated for two other guys from the U.S. too. Such a gem while crossing the country. I'd give it 10 stars if I could and highly recommend staying here.

The river is the real highlight, right beside the place with easy access for a swim. The owner family made us feel very welcome and looked after everything. They can arrange rafting or boat trips, and will prepare breakfast and dinner if you book ahead. There's also a small supermarket around the corner. We stayed one night on the way to the Caribbean, though this place is worth more than a quick stop. The cabins were spotless, with air conditioning, good beds and hammocks. The shared area felt cozy, with an outdoor kitchen and a big fridge.

The river was lovely for swimming, and we had a great time camping beside it with my family at Riverside Lodge. Francisco came by regularly to see how we were doing. There were nice tables at the sites, plus a shared kitchen with a sink and well-kept showers and bathrooms. The evening lights were tasteful too. We'd recommend camping here.

We spent three nights here for the first stop of our honeymoon. It’s a sweet little spot by the river, with covered seating for meals and an outdoor cooking and washing-up area, though you need your own equipment. The owners were kind and checked on us often. We also joined an evening cooking class with them, which was wonderful, and the food was delicious. We loved the location, the owners and the dog, and would absolutely recommend it.
