Hotel Santa Ana Liberia Airport

There isn’t anything to do near the hotel, but Hotel Santa Ana does its job well. I’ve stayed a night here every time I’ve been to Costa Rica because my return flights are always very early. Its airport shuttle has been reliable and affordable, by Costa Rican standards. People mainly choose the place for its airport location.

The service was perfect, and there’s a little cafe on site. It’s close to the airport, so it worked perfectly for a quick stay. They also have a beautiful German shepherd who’s incredibly friendly.

For $60, I got what I needed: a bed, bathroom with hot water, and a door. The air conditioning was a bonus. You get what you pay for, so set your expectations accordingly and you’ll avoid a lot of frustration. If you want luxury, the Hilton is an option, but it costs three times as much. To check in, drive around the left side to the back parking lot. The owner was friendly when we arrived and answered our questions before the trip on WhatsApp.

The location is close to the airport, though their ride there felt a bit expensive. The room’s air conditioning worked well, but there was none in the bathroom, where little frogs were climbing the walls in the shower. The room was very noisy, as if it had no sound insulation, and the sheets were worn. The mattress was thin too.
