Arenas del Mar

The two infinity pools were clean and refreshing, and the beach BBQ evenings felt romantic. We ate in both dining rooms, and the food was flavorful, beautifully presented, and excellent. Dining with the waves and a very good musician was a real treat. Our room, 601, was gorgeous and spotless, with stunning views and a bed that felt like a dream. We also appreciated the complimentary snacks, beer, and coffee in the fridge. The resort itself is beautiful, set in the rain forest right by the ocean. After our long trip from San Jose, the welcome at Arenas Del Mar was warm and generous, and our travel stress faded quickly. The staff were professional, friendly, and attentive throughout. We took three tours away from the property and were very happy with the drivers and guides. Thanks to all the staff who made the stay so special. You’re all great people. Pura Vida, everyone. We were known as the "raccoon family," and the team did everything they could to help with our special request. The care felt personal and warm. The staff were professional and incredibly friendly. Special mention to the minicar driver, who pointed out animals and little details during even the short ride. We forgot his name, unfortunately, but he was fantastic. Wildlife is right there around the hotel, next to Manuel Antonio National Park. The animals roam freely and aren't fed by the hotel, yet they visit and live peacefully alongside guests. We watched monkeys from the pool and spotted sloths. We loved the grounds, animals, staff, and manager. It was a trip highlight, and we’ll definitely come back. The rooms were spotless and just right, and the staff were so friendly and courteous that they even taught us some Spanish. The beaches were pristine, and being in the jungle as well made the place feel incredible. The best part for me was stepping out of our room and seeing little monkeys nearby in their natural habitat. There were iguanas, lizards, capuchins, squirrel monkeys, sloths, howler monkeys, and pumas, though the pumas are too shy to come close to people. We also saw whales from the beach. This is the place if you want both ocean and jungle. Such an amazing experience, more than just a vacation. Highly recommend it!

We loved the beach on the public side even more than the hotel's own beach. It's one of the most beautiful stretches around, and nearly a mile from the public access point, so it feels almost private. The hotel beach also has food and drink service. The breakfast that comes with the stay is five-star, nothing like a disappointing buffet or basic continental spread. The rooms are gorgeous, and wildlife such as monkeys, sloths, iguanas, and frogs is all around the property. Arenas Del Mar is an amazing place with exceptional staff. Everyone was happy and friendly, and they made every part of our stay feel seamless.
