Pangea Lodge

The place was clean, and the staff were friendly. We enjoyed our trip, though it would’ve been nice to have window screens. The layout was awkward for two couples because you have to pass through the downstairs bedroom to get upstairs. It could work for a family with kids, but wasn’t so convenient for us.

The pool is beautiful and well looked after, and the landscaping is delightful. My room was clean and comfortable, and the kitchen had everything I needed. The staff were friendly and helpful, and reception stays open long hours, which was convenient. This was my first stay at Pangea Lodge, and I’ll be back!

The staff were so kind and accommodating that I felt completely cared for and at ease. My room was only a few feet from the pool and one door from the shared kitchen, yet it still felt cozy and secluded, a nice retreat after a hot day out. I was there during the hottest time of year, and the clean, comfortable room with its excellent AC helped me forget the heat. The bathroom had a nice shower and plenty of space to hang clothes to dry. The location is excellent, just a block from the beach and within walking distance of places to eat or shop for basic groceries. The wildlife refuge is a short walk away, and there’s secure parking in the Lodge complex if you have a car. I’ll definitely stay here again when I return to Manzanillo.

There’s lovely foliage and wildlife all around, and the cleaning staff work hard to keep the grounds clean. Our room was nice and cool after a typical Costa Rican day, with soft, comfortable bedding and a very clean bathroom. The outdoor kitchen and dining area were clean too. It’s quiet, with the beach a block away and restaurants within walking distance. We liked the waterfall at the pool. Someone called it noisy, but to us it was very zen. We’ll definitely come back!
