Green Sanctuary Hotel

After the bumpy road, the grounds felt like an oasis, really pretty and calming. We could hear howler monkeys in the distance along with the lovely sounds of nature. The pool and included breakfast were both wonderful. Our room was a cute converted storage container, though there were lots of bugs, including ants and flies. One staff member, Fernando?, greeted us right away and helped us. We had a small problem with the door latch, and it was fixed incredibly quickly.

The grounds were lovely, but we didn’t get much rest during our two nights. We counted around 150 flying ants in our room, crawling and buzzing around both the room and bathroom, and even flying at us. We eventually found that the window frames weren’t sealed, letting insects in, which was really unpleasant. Reception and the owner’s communication also felt rather cool and brief.

We had a lovely stay at this affordable hotel. It’s a 10 minute walk to the beach, and the rooms were clean, simple and more than adequate. Breakfast was wonderful, and we liked the pool area and little yoga deck. Nosara is currently covered in construction, so there was construction noise from the hotel during the day, as there seemed to be across basically all of Nosara. My noise canceling headphones did the trick, but it’s worth knowing before you book.

The included breakfast was amazing, and the hotel was quiet with nice rooms. It’s around a 10 minute walk to the beach and maybe 15 to Main Street, where most restaurants are. There’s also a nice NCA trail between DT and the hotel. We had a great time at Green Sanctuary.
