John and Betsy were wonderful hosts. It was my first stay at Hotel Garza, on a paddle boarding surf retreat, and they made it feel like a homestay. The daily Tico breakfasts and range of food were both nutritious and delicious. Garza playa is an easy, short walk straight out front, and it was great for paddle boarding and swimming. Thanks for a memorable stay. I’ll be back!

I’ll be back next year. The outdoor kitchen area is brand new and a nice spot to sit and hang out, and the pool is beautiful. The gym is well equipped too. My room was clean, the bed comfortable, and the kitchen had everything I needed. The staff were very nice and helpful, and it’s just a one-minute walk to the beach and supermarkets.

I felt very secure there, with keypad entry for both the rooms and the front gate. The beach is just a 30-second walk from the gate, and the pool and water feature are nice. The staff made me feel like family, even though I don’t really speak the language. Hotel Playa Garza is a great way to spend time in Costa Rica. I’ll be back. Thank you, Betsy and John!

The staff are incredible, and you’re right beside the beach with lots of places to eat nearby. It’s one of my favorite hotels I’ve ever stayed at. I couldn’t recommend it more.

The beds are really, really comfortable, and having a fridge and kitchenette was great, if you pick the right room option. The pool is clean, and the gym is very well set up. Staff were incredibly kind, helpful, and accommodating. If Google Maps sends you to the wrong spot, go one more road south, just one street over from the main road, and turn left at the green fish store. Honestly, an amazing stay. I’ll definitely be back!
