The jungle sounds and sunrise over the trees made the mornings here unforgettable. Fresh fruit and a hot breakfast came each day in an airy wooden space with hammocks and lounge seats, and the coffee was better than anywhere else for me. From there, you can look over the beach as the sun comes up. A calm river meets the ocean just a minute down the beach. Ojo Del Mar sits right on a peaceful stretch of beach, surrounded by wildlife, while the cabin feels cozy and quiet. The staff are so warm and welcoming. Dinner here was delicious. I also recommend Martina’s restaurant and bar down the road, especially on Fridays, when locals and travelers gather and vendors sell handmade jewelry and lotions made with local ingredients. A magical place, highly recommend visiting.

A quiet spot to reset, with beaches for swimming or surfing close by. I didn’t have a car, but walked to other beaches and a waterfall. The whole staff was kind and helpful, and the cabins were cleaned daily. The gardens are kept naturally, blending beautifully into the jungle. Breakfast and dinner were healthy, delicious, and made with love. Just the place if you want to relax. Pura Vida!

Ojo Del Mar was a peaceful base for our Osa trip, close to the main hotspots and a few restaurants. We saw loads of wildlife nearby, and the whole staff was helpful and friendly. Katharina, Nico, and Mark helped us arrange all our activities. The food was wonderful and the accommodations comfortable. I’d definitely recommend staying here.

I’ve brought many groups to Ojo Del Mar, one of my favorite places anywhere. The sea is always in view and earshot, and Corcovado National Park is nearby. Wildlife passes through, including squirrels, howler and spider monkeys, and exotic birds. Two beautiful rivers flow into the ocean on either side, and floating in one while watching the sea is one of my favorite things to do. The staff take such good care of me and my group. They make amazing food, and though I sleep in a comfortable bed, I still feel connected to nature, almost like I’m in the wilderness.

Clean, cute place with kind people and a separate yoga studio. You’ll want a car to reach the accessible beach, though at low tide it’s a 20-30 minute walk along the beach, or you can take the dusty road. The pool’s too small for swimming, but it’s nice for cooling off. Solar power is very basic, so the fans are tiny and there aren’t any in the main house. Bathroom and shower privacy is limited, so it’s best to travel with someone you’re intimate with. And enjoy the monkeys. Probably best for a three-day stay.
