Nekajui Peninsula Papagayo, a Ritz-Carlton Reserve Residence

The suspension bridge 300ft above the ground, the Funicular down to the beach, the incredible hydrotherapy pool, and howler monkeys in the trees all make Nekajui feel like it’s in a league of its own. It’s the most stunning property I’ve seen, and seriously, it doesn’t get better. I’d never written a hotel review before, but this stay made me want to. The staff were world-class, and every restaurant and interaction felt classy. Cafe Rincon, the coffee shop on the property, had incredible service and some of the best coffee I’ve ever tasted. If you’re after one of the most memorable stays of your life, Nekajui is the place. We’re already planning to return and can’t wait.

Bird watching was awesome, and the beach, golf, pools, and sports were all great. The rooms were spectacular and really felt like what a Ritz Reserve should be. Ozzy & Alonso are great manzu’s, and the food at puna, cafe and brisa at other hotels on the Papagayo peninsula was great. The spa and amenities are amazing. It’s a new resort, so they’re still ironing out a few small kinks. They provide a shuttle back and forth to other amenities at the Pennisula papagayo!

We spent September 22-29, 2025 at the Ritz Nekajui for our babymoon, and the staff made us especially comfortable. Since I was seven months pregnant, we asked for an accessible room away from mosquitoes. They went above and beyond and gave us a stunning room in a central location, which made the stay comfortable and stress-free. Our two Manzus, Samuel and Wilson, took exceptional care of us. The staff who drove us between the resort and the spa and gym were a pleasure to meet, especially JJ, who made each ride even more enjoyable. We visited the beach and the spa/gym every day, and those were our favorite parts. From start to finish, the service, facilities, and food were all a perfect 10/10. We couldn’t have picked a better destination, and we’re so thankful for the experience. We’ve recommended the Ritz Nekajui to close family and friends and can’t wait to return.

The staff have been so kind to our children, and the grounds are breathtaking. It’s peaceful and secluded, with lovely wildlife and experiences for all ages. The service has been extraordinary, and the food excellent. Even for such a luxurious resort, the meal prices are surprisingly reasonable. Everything feels thoughtful, warm, and well maintained. We’ve stayed at many incredible five-star resorts, but Nekajui, a Ritz-Carlton Reserve in Costa Rica, is truly one of the best. We still have a few days left, and I already know we won’t want to leave. By far the best resort in Costa Rica. 🇨🇷
