We stayed here at both ends of our Costa Rica tour. The restaurant was a highlight, with a wide-ranging menu, very good food at fair prices, and a 29 percent discount for hotel guests. Breakfast was good too, with someone making omelettes. There's a small pool and a pleasant spot to relax. Reception was friendly and spoke English, and our rooms were clean and comfortable. Ours was huge, with two king-size beds, though it had no chair. It's about 2 km from the central shopping area, Central Market, and Cathedral. I'd definitely recommend it for a few days.

We stayed before and after our tour. The pool area is really nice, and the rooms are comfortable and clean. The hotel restaurant serves delicious food at reasonable prices, with excellent servers, and breakfast is good. There's a grocery store a couple of blocks away, plus some good restaurants within walking distance.

The hotel has a nice pool and is close to Sabana Park, with a grocery store and the park's east end easy to reach on foot. Beyond that, you'll need an Uber or taxi. It was exceptionally noisy and crowded during our stay, though the hotel has always catered to groups. Since Covid, the place seems to have gone downhill. Breakfast used to be great, and the food service above average. Now breakfast is lackluster, and food prices have shot up, though inflation in CR has been wild over the past few years. The rooms have been remodeled but still feel dated, and outlets are hard to find.

Our local friend suggested this place, and it worked well for the start and end of our trip. The staff were friendly and made check-in and checkout easy. The location and service are great value, and there's on-site parking. They also have a restaurant and pool, and serve an authentic Costa Rican breakfast.

We began and finished our Intrepid group tour at Auteńtico Hotel, first in room 104 and later in 106. Road noise kept us awake for most of the night. Looking back, I should have paid to upgrade, and that's what I'd suggest if you stay there.
