Four Points by Sheraton San Jose Costa Rica

I can't recommend this place. The room felt very old, and the carpet smelled bad. You could tell as soon as you came in from the hallway, which had new carpet. The AC gave off a bad odor, and all our clothes smelled like it after one night. The bathroom was very old and stained, and the mattress sagged after just minutes lying on it. We had booked 11 nights, but only stayed four nights on and off, even though we paid for the whole stay. It was that bad.

They claim to offer an airport shuttle to attract more customers, but that's a lie. They also charged an unjustified extra 105 USD to my credit card. I'm trying to get that money back, and it's been a headache.

Of the four hotels I stayed at in Costa Rica, this was my favorite. It was clean and comfortable, and the food was the best, with more choices than at the other places. It felt the most like an American hotel. The drive to the airport took about 20 minutes on what seemed like a quieter road.

The rooms were average, and the one we had on the lower floor the first night had a slight bug problem. For the price, you get what you pay for, with amazing service included. Andres, who I believe works in the bar/restaurant downstairs, was especially nice to us throughout our stay and gave us stellar service.
