Lovely atmosphere and very friendly staff. The food was delicious, authentic Italian cooking in Costa Rica, which surprised us. Just watch the exchange rate, as we were shorted by about 10%.

We spent 10 days in Costa Rica and ate here at least five times. I’m not even a pizza fan, but I’d happily eat theirs every day. Everything we ordered was fantastic, from seafood and pasta to steak and pizza, all better than I expected. The people were friendly, too. If you make it to Playa Junquillal, give this place a visit. We’ll be back!

Tatanka feels like home, and the staff are a big reason why. Giovanni, the owner, is a kind man with a big heart; he and the cleaning staff were diligent and so kind. Marli, who seemed to me to be the head of staff, deserves special praise. I’ve stayed in places in Costa Rica where I felt like an outsider, but not here. There’s great AC, clean rooms, a nice restaurant, and a pool. A must stay if you want to make friends in Costa Rica.

The made to order pizza was especially good, and breakfast was included, with eggs made to order and the freshest, best fruit. Wonderful proprietor and staff.
