Vida Mountain Resort & Spa - Adults Only

The food was delicious and plentiful, and Berenice, who looked after us, was incredibly helpful and lovely. We also loved the range of spaces and beautiful facilities. Set in nature, the hotel has breathtaking mountain and ocean views, and my wife and I found it a wonderful place to relax. It’s one of the most beautiful hotels we’ve stayed at in Costa Rica. There were a few drawbacks. Some dishes, especially the soups, were overly seasoned. Breakfast ended at 9:00 a.m., which felt early for a hotel where guests might want to sleep in. The blackout system let in light at dawn, and the air conditioning condenser built into the outside wall was excessively noisy at night.

We loved the simple local food, and the peace and quiet here carried us through some of the noisier, more tumultuous places we visited later. This was such a wonderful start to our two-week Costa Rica trip. We’d booked one night, then rearranged things so we could stay for two. The road up gets difficult, but only for a short stretch. Do NOT NOT NOT start from anywhere other than San Ramon.

The food was delicious, and we enjoyed the coffee tour and forest therapy. Both were worthwhile. Vida Mountain is a beautiful, peaceful small resort, and with few other guests around, the staff took great care of us. The road in is rocky, but our driver handled it expertly. Wi-Fi is a little slow, though that can be a good reason to put the phone down. I’d recommend it to anyone wanting peace and quiet.

Debbie, the owner, and her daughter Kelly made me feel right at home. Vida Mountain is the most amazing resort I’ve ever visited, with breathtaking views, lots of room to wander and enjoy nature, and comfortable living quarters. The design feels very well thought out, and the prices are reasonable. The owner is so humble, and that makes all the difference. I’ll definitely be back :)
