The reception staff, especially Milton and colleagues, tried their best. There were some new coffee machines, and the rooms were spacious with good beds. But the hotel had only been open four months and still had a lot to sort out. Our group found that most of what we needed to make breakfast was missing from all the rooms we booked. We had access to two beaches, which was really good, though difficult for anyone with walking problems. The pool by reception was OK. We held a family gathering for 37 people. The restaurant had perfect space for it, but service was below par. The party food was OK, with few choices, and serving took ages: the first 10 people had finished before the last five got their meals. Breakfast was a sad experience too. If you have to choose between coffee and juice, you should be able to get water without paying. The rooms had issues with insects and missing things, so we got a reduction in the fee plus breakfast. But the breakfast menu we were shown on arrival was very different from the fixed meal mentioned above. The restaurant's payment process was slow. You couldn't give your room number and pay later, everything was written on paper, and the card terminal seemed to have a mind of its own. Would I return? Yes, if they bring the hotel up to four-star standard and offer a decent breakfast.

All 20 people on my tour found ants in their rooms. The bathrooms were deteriorating, with holes in the tubs, and most rooms didn't have working faucets or hot water. There was only one person covering reception, bellhop, maintenance, and every other job. The receptionist said the kitchen and bar had a made-up menu. You couldn't get food except what was served at mealtimes. This place should be retired.

The room had no Wi-Fi, only the front office did. The mattress seemed like the cheapest kind, the bed squeaked, and I couldn't get a good night's sleep. In the kitchen, the cold water didn't work at all, and the bathroom faucet had no hot water. That loose, wobbly faucet had broken plugs that were useless, and the shower was filthy, rusty, and unpleasant to use. The hotel claims four stars, but the amenities barely felt like two. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone expecting a decent standard of accommodation.

I had a wonderful time walking along the beach, and the bay view was awesome. The pool was refreshing too. The room was comfortable and I really enjoyed the small kitchen, but it needs work. The mattress should be replaced now: the foam is worn away and you can feel the metal springs. Lots of other maintenance items need attention as well.
