Leyenda Boutique Hotel & Spa

The rooms are big and have everything you need. Breakfast is delicious and plentiful. The restaurant is good, though expensive. This is a very nice hotel a reasonable distance from the beach, with a shuttle to the spectacular shore that includes a mobile bathroom for guests. Families with small children should especially like the shallow pools, playground, and spacious garden.

Families and couples who want a quiet stay may find Hotel Leyenda a good fit. The property is generally calm, with clean, well-kept rooms and common areas, several pools including ones for children, and staff many guests describe as friendly, attentive, and helpful. Visitors also appreciate the reliable shuttle to Playa Carrillo, since the hotel isn't right on the beach. Breakfast and dinner at the on-site restaurant get regular praise. Some guests say the beach is farther away than they expected. There are also occasional reports of small maintenance problems or uneven housekeeping, and the simpler room types can feel basic. It's not the place for nightlife or a beachfront resort feel, and travelers wanting a more luxurious stay may prefer another style of property.

The room was great, and the place itself is lovely. Breakfast was wonderful too. But we expected a spa experience, since it was advertised as a SPA and resort. It is a resort, but the spa is just one room. My daughter and I found it hot and uncomfortable, and the facial I paid quite a bit for was only average. We had other treatments booked, but cancelled them after that. I wouldn't choose this place if you're looking for a SPA. Also, it was probably 15 minutes to Samara. I should have checked the location before booking.

It's a little outside town, so getting to other restaurants and similar places means a 10-15 minute walk, but we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The chalet-style rooms are well equipped and sit among beautiful, secluded gardens. Breakfast was a great buffet, and there's a regular shuttle to Carrillo Beach.
