This was the worst hotel I've stayed in anywhere, and I've traveled to a LOT of countries. I wasn't expecting A/C or amenities that weren't listed, but basic cleanliness was a problem: the sheets, floors, and walls needed cleaning, and the mattresses and pillows needed replacing. They should also spray for bugs. We booked through G adventures, and this was the only bad part of our whole two weeks in Costa Rica. Someone in our group saw sparks coming from the wiring for the "water heater" in the shower. Ants were coming from inside our mattress, so we had to wake our tour guide to get his spare one. It couldn't even be blamed on food in the room. I've never been so disgusted by a place. The manager didn't respond to resolve it. See the attached pictures and video.

Colorful, cute hippie place, close to the beach and restaurants. The mattress was the worst ever, and the pillows were even worse. They should be thrown out and replaced. It's damp and humid. A good fit for low budget travelers who don't want any amenities.

We booked through g adventures, and I was very disappointed with what I paid for this standard of hotel through them. G adventures shouldn't be using this place. The rooms were dirty and very basic, the shower was rubbish, and there's no air-conditioning.

The owner is a very friendly woman, and this is a family-run place with regulars. Still, there was no hot water. It could get noisy depending on the other guests, and while there's mosquito netting over the bed, don't be surprised to find other bugs in your room.

A relaxed, pleasant place for a pretty reasonable price. The people are really nice, and the shared kitchen brought back memories of childhood holidays with my parents in little cabin camps. Watch out for mosquitos around reception: they're ready for you, and you'll end up itchy, but that's about it, nothing to worry about.
