La Foresta Nature Resort

You can head straight from the back of the complex into the jungle and follow the free trails to spot monkeys, birds, and iguanas. There’s a zipline too. The pool is beautifully set, with sunbeds and parasols, and there’s a big terrace beside it for meals. Breakfast has lots of tasty choices, and lunch was good too. Quepos is only a 10-minute drive, though I didn’t find it especially charming. For nice restaurants, I’d drive a little farther to Mauel Antonio. We stayed in apartment #207. It was a huge complex with lovely landscaped gardens, and our room was very large, with a wide, comfortable firm bed, good pillows, a TV, safe, large fridge, lots of storage, and an extra sink. The bathroom was spacious and had a nice rain shower. The air conditioning was awkwardly placed and kept blowing cold air across the bed. Wi-Fi kept cutting out. The complex is guarded around the clock, and our car felt safe behind the gates.

The rooms were clean and really comfortable, and the staff were so friendly. It’s a lovely, peaceful and safe place. I’d recommend it.
