Gina was such a gem. We’d mentioned we were at the soda across the street, and as we were leaving, she called out to me. She knew our plans and hurried over to ask if we needed a ride since she had an errand in that direction. The owner was just as kind: when I asked to see the rooms, she arranged it right away and introduced me to her daughter. Hotel Ventura was also the cleanest, brightest place.

Everything was clean and comfortable, and the staff were so kind and thoughtful. Police patrol the area now and then, which made it feel very safe. One thing to know: the gate is locked at 11 p.m. Ask for the code if you’ll be out in the evening and coming back late.

In the center of Ciudad Quesada, this is a lovely little place for an overnight stop. The staff were very friendly, and the rooms were really clean.
