Hotel Hacienda Guachipelin

The waterfall was absolutely beautiful, and the hike to reach it was worth it. You walk through forest, then tackle very steep steps and a swinging bridge made of steps. It was a little scary for me because I’m afraid of heights, but the view at the end made it worthwhile. We bought the package with lunch, the waterfall, and hot springs. Lunch was fresh and delicious, and the restaurant staff were friendly and attentive. We loved the hot springs too, with pools at different temperatures, so you can pick the ones that suit you. The mud treatment was a unique experience: rub it on, let it dry, then wash it off. My partner and I had a great day, and he was happy we could add all these activities to his 50th birthday trip.

The main issue for us was getting clear information about the activities. We asked several staff members and often got inconsistent or vague answers, which meant we missed something we’d really wanted to do. We only learned on our last day that it had been possible the whole time. Before we arrived, though, communication with the resort was excellent and quick. Even with that frustration, it was a fantastic stay. The property is far more beautiful than the website suggests, and the rooms are roomy, comfortable, clean, and well designed. Everyone we met was welcoming and genuinely helpful. The restaurants served fresh, high-quality food, all deliciously prepared. There are lots of activities, including lovely hikes nearby, and we’d highly recommend staying here.

We spent both days walking the trails to the waterfalls. Victoria was the one we couldn’t reach on foot, since it’s mainly included with tubing and horseback riding tours. The grounds were lovely, and we saw hummingbirds every day. The breakfast buffet was delicious and changed each day, and the gift shop had reasonable prices. We also enjoyed the mud bath and hot springs, along with the pool and hot tub. A very nice hotel with lots to do on site. I’d definitely recommend staying.

We slept so well during our three nights here. The room was just right, and the area is quiet. I loved waking up to birdsong and being surrounded by such beautiful scenery and wildlife. The hiking trails are close by, with great walks and gorgeous spots by the water. Restaurant staff were amazing, too. You can sit beside the pool and have drinks brought over. A dream for anyone who loves nature, highly recommended.
