Tico Adventure Lodge

The team were so attentive and friendly, and gave us useful tips for the area. We felt safe and relaxed the whole time. Our room, #8, was simple but very comfortable, and the quiet AC kept it cool. We loved sitting in the rocking chairs on the front porch in the morning with strong, fresh coffee and a book. The pool, tucked among lush greenery, was refreshing after exploring, and the kitchen had everything we needed to make guacamole and enjoy local fruit. We also liked the little library. Tico Adventure Lodge was a lovely, peaceful place to stay in Samara.

Back for my second stay. The beach is about a five-minute walk, and my local friend thinks this is the best place to stay if you're not renting a house. The rooms are all different and nice, and the staff are friendly and helpful. It feels a bit like an upscale Robinson Caruso jungle treehouse right in the village. Good value, and from our perspective Samara felt very safe, with no issues at all.

The late shift security guard saved my trip when heavy rain came in and he covered my motorcycle. Big thanks to him and all the staff. The place was super clean and in a great spot, and they take sound seriously, so from the hammock on my private balcony I could enjoy the sounds of nature. Great staff!

I spent three nights here as a solo budget traveler, treating myself, and it was worth every penny. It cost only a little more than the hostels I was paying for. My room was spacious, thoughtfully designed, and had everything I needed, with lots of storage, a safe, and a clean bathroom with hot water and a great shower. The cleaner came in each day to reset the room, and the kitchen was spotless and stocked with everything you could need. The staff were friendly and helpful, including arranging transport from my previous stop. The bus stop and ticket office are on the same road, which was handy when it was sadly time to leave. It's less than a five-minute walk to the beach, with shops, restaurants, and supermarkets along the way. I enjoyed spotting wildlife from the outdoor kitchen while having the complimentary coffee, and the pool area was kept very clean. I couldn't try the yoga classes or therapies because of an injury, but I liked that they were offered onsite. The one possible downside is fairly loud road noise at night, as can happen in town, so bring earplugs. It's a relaxing little jungle retreat with town convenience, and I hope I can stay again.
