Colores del Arenal

We're staying four nights and feel lucky to have picked this hotel. The setting is wonderful and relaxing, with lovely gardens, a river, a pond with ducks, and a refreshing covered outdoor pool. Marinela & Elena have been kind, helpful, and efficient. Our room is spacious, though there isn't much storage space. There is lots of free, safe parking, and Karina and Cristina serve a delicious breakfast outdoors. It's a short drive to the town center. Highly recommended!

The garden was a lovely bonus, with different birds, butterflies, and iguanas to spot. It's a small hotel with a friendly feel, and the staff welcomed us warmly and helped with every question. Our room was spacious and clean, and breakfast was great, with a choice of typical costarican or continental. The hotel is at the eastern end of town, about a 15 minute walk to the city center.

The location was easy to find and get to, right off the main road. Driving there at night felt a bit scary, though the property itself was secluded and pretty protected. There was a large pond with ducks and fish, plus a little swing tied to the trees. Kids would love it. The staff spoke English really well, which helped us a lot. The only real downside was the noise on the tin roof when birds or squirrels dropped nuts or something onto it. It wasn't too bad, and we'd definitely stay again. We were there for four nights. The breakfast was basic, typical food, and good. They cleaned our room every day, washed the towels and sheets, and made the bed. They also did our laundry, though I'm not sure whether that was included. They left a note asking for a tip at the end, which was fine. It was unexpected and wonderful to have clean clothes for the rest of our trip.

The staff were so kind, especially Naomi, and we loved eating breakfast outside and using the pool. The owner's three dogs kept us entertained, too. It felt like a tranquil oasis away from the busy town center, with a great price-quality ratio for La Fortuna.
